The first system pipe using an aluminium base, fit with a briar pipe bowl. This design dates back to 1936. Inventor is Fredererick Kirsten, an aeronautical engeneer, who used his experience in working with alunminium in the aircraft industry to make his famous pipe. Later he will be copied by many others, such as Falcon.
This white aluminium finish is the most authentic, named Mariner. Production took place in the Kirsten Pipe Company Inc. in Seattle, Whashington, USA.
The condition of this copy is exceptionally good, the bowl has been used, but is not worn. All other parts, including the detachable screw at the front, the aluminium stem and the vulcanic mouthpiece are in excellent condition.
Absolutley a pipe for a connoisseur or collector of iconic pipes.
